Recently I took the younger children to a local museum to see a Lego display. Here are some photos of the displays we saw:

Ashly turns14!

Last week we went to Grandpa and Grandma's house to celebrate Mathias and Ashly's birthday. It was a beautiful day to be out in the yard for games and conversation. Great-grandma also joined us for an hour.

Today we celebrated Ashly's 14th birthday. She was very excited that it fell on Labor Day. That meant everyone was home and she didn't have to do any school work! The day itself didn't end up being anything special. The weather was gorgeous and we were outside doing a lot of work. Daniel, Justin, and Josiah worked on finished up the new playset. Jesi and Ashly worked with Mom on power washing the house and washing windows. They also did a bit of the mowing.

On their birthday, each child gets to pick their special dinner. Ashly wanted BBQ chicken on the grill. It was a perfect Labor Day meal and the chicken was grilled to perfection.

After dinner we sat outside, opened a few gifts and had Ashly's favorite: mint ice cream oreo dessert with fudge shell.
